Rev. Brian J. Henderson, Senior Pastor

Prior to being called to Calvary, Brian Henderson served as pastor of Upper Merion Baptist Church in King of Prussia, Penn., for nine years after having been the congregation's pastoral intern for four years. Brian is a graduate of Eastern College and Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Brian and his wife Tara each hold a Doctor of Ministry in Marriage & Family from Palmer Theological Seminary. With their three children, Brian and Tara enjoy traveling, camping, hiking, reading books, gardening and spending time with family and friends. |

Rev. Anne M. Jernberg, Pastor

Anne comes to Calvary from the Wilshire Baptist Church of Dallas where she completed a two-year pastoral residency program, a unique opportunity funded by the Lilly Endowment. Previous places of ministry include The Memorial Church in Harvard Yard and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. Anne received a bachelor’s degree in religion at Austin College of Sherman, Texas, and her Master of Divinity degree at Harvard Divinity School in Cambridge, Mass. Baptist by birth and active in the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship all her adult life, Anne enjoyed serving as the director of spiritual life at Harvard Divinity School, which nurtured her ecumenical and interfaith spirit. Willing to try almost anything, Anne especially enjoys yoga, reading, writing, traveling, poetry and quotations, outdoor activities and a good strong cup of coffee. |

Joe Greemore, Pastor

Joe is the newest member of the Calvary staff. He comes to us from Parsons, Kan., where he served at the First Baptist Church as Director of Youth Ministries. He is a graduate of Ottawa University in Ottawa, Kan., where he and wife Shelby met while planning a youth retreat in 2003. While at Ottawa, Joe was given the opportunity to travel to Japan for a Cross-Cultural Homestay Exchange where he stayed for 26 days. Joe attended Central Baptist Theological Seminary and plans to continue his education locally at the Iliff School of Theology pursuing a Master’s of Divinity Degree. He has served throughout the Midwest on the Ottawa Summer Camp Ministry team from as far west as Grand Mesa to as far east as Lake Springfield Baptist Camp in Springfield, Ill. He has also served in such liturgical capacities as campus ministries intern, interim pastor and associate pastor. Joe is delighted to join the Calvary family! |

Tara Henderson, Nursery Coordinator

Tara loves working with children and enjoys her time organizing volunteers and staff to care for our precious little ones from infant to pre-K. She knows how important it is for parents and children to have a good nursery experience to cultivate faith and relationships. Tara has a Master of Divinity and Master of Social Services and a Doctor of Ministry in Marriage and Family. But most important, she is a wife and mom to three young children and loves it. |

Kathy Hill, Office Manager

Kathy manages the day-to-day operation of the church office, handles print production, coordinates the activity calendar and provides administrative assistance to the pastoral staff. She enjoys the challenge of multitasking and serving the wonderful folks at Calvary along with the many volunteers who help meet the vast needs of this busy office. |

As Messenger editor, she has produced our bimonthly newsletter for 18 years. She brings more than two decades of marketing and design experience to the table and is CEO of Sage Creative. |

Mary Armacost Hulst served on the Calvary staff for nearly 30 years and as senior pastor 1993–2006. Now as Pastor Emeritus, she also serves on the Executive Committee of our American Baptist Churches USA as immediate past president. |

Rev. Gordon J. Kieft, M.Div., M.A., Calvary Counseling Center Pastoral counselor and licensed professional counselor

Gordon Kieft is available for counseling with congregants as well as those outside Calvary. He is trained in marriage and family therapy as well as individual issues such as depression, anxiety, addictions and codependency. He works with children and adolescents in the context of the family as well as adults and seniors. Spiritual resources may be used as part of the therapy process. The Calvary Center is affiliated with Pastoral Counseling for Denver, which makes it possible to use one's insurance to cover some of the cost. Some financial assistance is also available. |

Bill Loftis, Financial Secretary

Bill processes all church income for deposit, maintains contribution records and handles church payroll. Occasionally you’ll find Bill involved in maintenance activities around the church property. His 30-year professional career in information technology included accounting, payroll and production control systems, business systems planning and corporate computer security. Outside of church, Bill is involved with Habitat for Humanity as a regular volunteer and serves as Interfaith Hospitality Network's board treasurer. |

Kevin Padworski, Director of Music

Kevin Padworski brings a wealth of musical knowledge and experience to Calvary. He began his musical studies on piano at age 7, picked up his first saxophone when he was 9, began vocal and organ instruction at 13, and accepted his first church organist position the same year. Having received the Mozart Music Scholarship, he did his undergraduate work in music education with concentrations in saxophone and organ at Eastern University, St. David's, Penn., where he graduated magna cum laude. Kevin has performed extensively in each discipline, winning numerous honors and competitions. He has actively participated in choral, instrumental and orchestral ensembles as accompanist, member and conductor.
Padworski is a member of the Fellowship of American Baptist Musicians, a board member of American Guild of Organists Denver Chapter and is listed in Who's Who publications. |

Rev. Warren Risch, Pastor

Warren capably fulfills a plethora of need-driven pastoral niches at Calvary. He was actively involved in singles’ ministry for more than 20 years. As liaison to our Sudanese congregation, he oversees the tribes Calvary programming and Nuer language classes. He assists with their spiritual, resettlement, immigration, legal and employment issues. Most recently he supervised the work of our Iliff School of Theology intern, who worked with the Sudanese.
As a licensed clinical social worker, he has presented numerous seminars on personal growth, change, and the development of healthy relationships. Warren is a single father with adult daughters and four grandchildren. |

Bruce Whitaker, Church Administrator

As owner and CEO of Rocky Mountain Hospitality Network, Inc., Bruce brings more than 33 years’ experience in hospitality sales and marketing across the country. He is a part time professor in meeting management at Metropolitan State College. Bruce has served on a number of boards and is a past president of five organizations. He has been married to Becky for 31 years and has a son who works for Raytheon, and another son who will be a freshman at the University of Nevada at Las Vegas. |
Missionaries in Residence:
For a number of years, Calvary has enjoyed a Missionary in Residence program. Guests representing Thailand, Burma, South Africa, Czech Republic, Poland, and Gaza Strip have spent time at Calvary enriching worship, church school and special programs–helping us understand their cultures. They have taught us what God is doing through Christ in those distant lands. They help our world grow smaller! |
